In the first episode we learned what AI means. Now, let’s explore the three main types of Artificial Intelligence that scientists talk about — ANI, AGI, and ASI. Each level represents how “smart” a machine can be.

The types of AI are based on how capable and intelligent a system is. Think of it like levels in a game — from simple to super smart. Level 1 = Narrow AI, Level 2 = General AI, Level 3 = Super AI.
مصنوعی ذہانت کی اقسام اس بات پر مبنی ہیں کہ ایک نظام کتنی قابلیت اور عقل رکھتا ہے۔ جیسے کسی کھیل کے درجے ہوتے ہیں — آسان سے لے کر بہت ذہین تک۔ پہلا درجہ محدود، دوسرا عمومی، اور تیسرا اعلیٰ ذہانت ہے۔
Also called Weak AI. It can do only one specific task. Examples include Siri, Alexa, chatbots, spam filters, or face recognition. ANI follows rules and data — it doesn’t truly “think.”
اسے محدود یا کمزور مصنوعی ذہانت بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔ یہ صرف ایک خاص کام کر سکتی ہے، جیسے سری، الیکسا، چیٹ بوٹ یا اسپام فلٹر۔ یہ قوانین اور ڈیٹا پر کام کرتی ہے، خود سے نہیں سوچتی۔
These AIs help us daily but cannot go beyond their programmed role.

Also called Strong AI. It would be able to think, reason, and learn like a human in any field. AGI can switch between skills — solve maths, play chess, write essays, drive cars — all with understanding.

True AGI does not exist yet. Scientists are experimenting with advanced neural networks that mimic human reasoning, but we are still far away. For now, AI can outperform humans in single tasks, not in general thinking.
ابھی حقیقی عمومی ذہانت موجود نہیں۔ سائنس دان ایسے نظام بنا رہے ہیں جو انسان کی طرح سوچ سکیں، مگر ابھی سفر باقی ہے۔ فی الحال مشینیں صرف مخصوص کاموں میں انسان سے بہتر ہیں۔
ASI is the stage where machines become smarter than humans. It could design its own systems, improve itself, and possibly create new knowledge faster than people. It remains a theory — a mix of hope and concern.
اعلیٰ مصنوعی ذہانت وہ ہوگی جو انسان سے بھی زیادہ ذہین ہو۔ یہ خود کو بہتر بنا سکے گی اور نئی معلومات خود تیار کرے گی۔ فی الحال یہ ایک نظری تصور ہے جو امید اور خدشے دونوں رکھتا ہے۔
As AI grows stronger, we must set rules and ethics. It’s important that AI systems follow human values — safety, fairness, and kindness — so technology remains a blessing, not a danger.
جیسے جیسے مصنوعی ذہانت ترقی کر رہی ہے، ہمیں اس کے لیے اصول اور اخلاقیات مقرر کرنا ہوں گے۔ ضروری ہے کہ یہ انسانی اقدار — حفاظت، انصاف اور خیر خواہی — کے مطابق ہو تاکہ ٹیکنالوجی رحمت بنے، خطرہ نہیں۔
